Tom Hiddleston Pays for Breaking Time in Trailer for Marvel Streaming Series Loki

After teasing us with an intriguing extended clip, Marvel has finally released the first trailer for its new Disney+ streaming series, Loki. The series explains what happened to the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) after he lifted the Tesseract during the Avengers’ “time heist” in Endgame. Loki’s meddling with the Infinity Stone-powered cube apparently splintered the time stream.

Arrested by the Time Variance Authority, Loki has been conscripted by Mobius (Owen Wilson) to help fix the mess he has made. Loki is described as a “Variant” and we’re likely to see many variations of Loki from other dimensions — Young Loki, Female Loki, etc. — in a jaunt through realities reminiscent of Rick Sanchez’s adventures in Rick and Morty.

The trailer gives off major Time Bandits-meets-Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy vibes and we’re super excited for its debut on June 11th!

Loki was created and written for Disney+ by Michael Waldron, with Kate Herron directing. Owen Wilson, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku also star.

The series will begin streaming on Disney+ on June 11.
