Ryan Reynolds Announces New Free Guy Release Date in Wacky Video
With the coronavirus pandemic finally subsiding, movie theaters are opening up again and studios are putting their shelved movies back on the release slate. One that we’ve been looking forward to for some time is among those and the star of Free Guy himself, Ryan Reynolds, was the one to give us the good news in a video containing his patented form of sardonic wit.

A bank teller (Reynolds) who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.
Free Guy was directed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things). The script was written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, from a story by Lieberman. Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi also star.
Free Guy opens in theaters on August 13th.
