Star Wars: Stylized Teaser Posters for The Rise of Skywalker and Chewie’s Silent Night
When you picture a Star Wars poster in your mind, you likely conjure one of the iconic, romantic images painted by Drew Struzan, whose dynamic storytelling compositions defined the look of the franchise’s posters and marketing material for decades and still informs and inspires poster art to this day, but things are being done a bit differently for the ninth and final installment in the Skywalker Saga. Yes, the standard movie theater one sheet for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has the classic montage look, but Disney and Lucasfilm have allowed theaters to create their own exclusive designs — like RealD 3D’s teaser invoking the original poster for Star Wars — and also commissioned teaser poster art from a wide variety of artists with different styles, which just makes the franchise seem all the more inclusive.
Finally, something for the die-hard fans. You don’t have to celebrate Christmas to enjoy this video, but you do have to love Wookies!
