After a year of retrograde motion, Marvel Studios is finally firing on all cylinders, with two Disney+ series already behind them and a third — Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson — about to debut this week, and three more in various stages of production. But that’s just the streaming series, with Black Widow finally back on the theatrical release slate, and Shang-Chi and The Eternals joining the MCU this year. But what about the mutants? More specifically, what about the one mutant we know is going to make the multiversal leap from Fox’s Marvel universe of films to the MCU, Deadpool?
After much rumor, confusion, and speculation, Marvel President Kevin Feige finally revealed in January that Deadpool, as played by Ryan Reynolds, will be joining the MCU and remain an R-rated franchise. There’s been no hint or indication of how Deadpool will make his way into the MCU, let alone when, but at least the franchise’s social media-friendly lead actor is happy to trickle out enough hints and clues to keep us from forgetting about the ol’ ‘Merc with a Mouth.” In his latest teaser, Reynolds posted an Instagram Stories image that might just indicate that he is getting ready to go into production on Deadpool 3… or he’s just massively trolling us fans and is simply revealing that he carries his Deadpool mask around with him (we would!).

Sister-writers Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are currently at work on the script for Deadpool 3, with Reynolds serving as creative consultant.
