DC FanDome: Sneak Peek and “Roll Call” Videos for James Gunn’s Very “Different” Suicide Squad

While Matt ReevesThe Batman was easily the most highly-anticipated Warner Bros. property teased during the DC FanDome worldwide internet event, many fans were eager for any hint at what James Gunn had in store for the DCEU during his hiatus from Marvel. After all, if anyone could save DC’s “supervillain team-up” franchise, it’s the man who turned a band of relatively-unknown misfit antiheroes, criminals and assassins into one of Marvel’s most popular movie franchises.

If the two videos released as part of the event are any indication, Gunn will not disappoint. With a bigger cast, filled with brighter and more colorful characters, and, apparently, more explosions, The Suicide Squad looks weird in all the right ways, like a cross between Gunn’s overlooked superhero classic Super, Mystery Men and Deadpool! When Gunn says, “It’s going to be different from any superhero movie ever made,” we believe him!

The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Joel Kinnaman, John Cena, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Michael Rooker, Flula Borg, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Steve Agee, Mayling Ng, Peter Capaldi, Alice Braga, Pete Davidson, Nathan Fillion, Sean Gunn, Storm Reid, Taika Waititi, Joaquín Cosío, and Juan Diego Botto.
