Tom Holland Reveals the Name of the Spider-Man: Homecoming Sequel
In a back hallway confessional from Ace Comic Con this past weekend, Tom Holland apologized for having no “revelations” to share with fans about “Spider-Man 2” and then totally leaked the title of the movie before Marvel or Sony could make it official. The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is called Spider-Man: Far From Home, a great title, evocative of the first movie and of the place that Peter Parker (Holland) finds himself in following his run-in with Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War.
Jon Watts is returning to direct, with Homecoming contributing writers Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penning the screenplay. Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton and Zendaya are confirmed to reprise their roles of Aunt May, Adrian Toomes and MJ, respectively, with Jacob Batalon and Laura Harrier likely returning as Ned and Liz.
Spider-Man: Far from Home opens in theaters on July 5, 2019, two months after Avengers 4 debuts in theaters.
