Ron Howard Reveals Not-Too-Surprising Location from Young Han Solo Movie

Oh, Ron Howard, how we love your Twitter account! The director of the as-yet-untitled Young Han Solo prequel movie has done it again, tweeting out a “spicy” shot from the set of the movie that reveals a location well known to anyone worth their spice in Star Wars lore: the mines of Kessel!

Solo touts his impossible (you know, because parsecs are units of distance, not time) running of spice from the mining planet in the original movie so we had high hopes that that scenario might play out in the prequel with young Han (Alden Ehrenreich) at the helm of the Millennium Falcon after winning it from young Lando (Donald Glover) and it appears that might just be the case. Space junk!

Lawrence and Jon Kasdan wrote the script, which focuses on the formative years of the young smuggler and scoundrel (Ehrenreich), his gambling buddy (Glover) and a big walking carpet who owes him a life debt (Joona Suotamo). Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke and Pheobe Waller-Bridge also star.

The Untitled Han Solo movie is slated for release on May 25, 2018.

Whether it’s an obvious location or not, I am excited to see this important part of Han’s past!
