Linda Hamilton Will Join Arnold Schwarzenegger in James Cameron’s New Terminator
She’ll be back! Linda Hamilton, who played the iconic waitress-turned-road warrior Sarah Connor in the original Terminator movies, will return in the new Terminator movie being produced by franchise creator James Cameron alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and a yet-to-be-cast “18-something woman” who will “be the new centerpiece of the new story,” according to Cameron.
Cameron is currently writing the movie with Tim Miller (Deadpool), who will direct what is being called a direct sequel to Cameron’s 1991 movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Cameron confirmed time travel will be an essential part of the story, with “mostly new characters” from “the future and the past” and “Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it,” and said it’s time for an older woman to be depicted kicking ass on screen.
As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return. There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys, but there isn’t an example of that for women.
Give it the ol’ college try!
Linda rocks! This is gunna be good!
If they’re really going to go back to the well again, at least Cameron is involved.
