The Guardians of the Galaxy Get a Boost from David Bowie in Grammy Awards Spot
‘Wham, bam, thank you, ma’am!’ In this follow-up to the smash original, Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) enlists his surrogate family of space pirate adventurers to help him learn the mystery of his true parentage.
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sees the return of Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Sean Gunn as Kraglin and Karen Gillan as Nebula, with newcomer Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, Sylvester Stallone as a Nova Corps member and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet.
The movie is slated to open on May 5, 2017.
Interesting fact is in memory of David Bowie, James Gunn said that the studio had the rights to one of Bowie’s songs, and early on the plan had changed not to use it in GotG vol 2, but in light of the situation he suggested an interest in using it in the movie. So that’s cool that he decided to use it in the tv spot and likely the movie. Gunn said Bowie is the only artist that would be in Awesome mixes 1 & 2.
I didn’t know that. You can do no wrong with Bowie. The man was a genius! I’m so, so looking forward to Guardians 2. Gunn really blew me away with the first one.
