Luke’s Allegiance in Doubt in New Teaser Poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

We’re really hoping that writer-director Rian Johnson and the Lucasfilm marketing crew is going for some heavy misdirection with the materials released at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Between Luke (Mark Hamill) saying, “It’s time for the Jedi to end,” in the spine-tingling teaser trailer, and his snarling visage cast in red opposite Kylo Red (Adam Driver) in the new teaser poster, it’s kinda-sorta looking like Skywalker has fallen to the dark side and we’re not too cool with that.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson (Looper). Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis return, joined by Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is slated to open on December 15, 2017.
