Super Troopers 2 Completes Post-Production

The long-awaited sequel to one of the most hilarious movies of the aughts is one step closer to reality. In a recent post on the official Broken Lizard comedy troupe website, Kevin Hefferman (Rodney “Rod” Farva) has announced the completion of post-production on Super Troopers 2.

We’ve posted about how we’ve been doing test screenings already and some folks were confused how we do that if the film was not technically “done.” The reality is that those screenings are done with an unfinished product: temp sound & music stuffed in and a low res picture. It’s important to do those screenings before everything is locked in, so we can see what works and what doesn’t, what jokes play and what jokes suck and then make adjustments accordingly.  But at some point you have to stop that process and lock everything in. The sound mix and the color correction mark the end of that process. Both are exciting, not just because they are the final steps, but because they vastly improve the film.

Jay Chandrasekhar (Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn) directed Super Troopers 2 from a script written by the entire Broken Lizard crew and all of the main characters from the original reprise their roles. The plot is still under wraps, but, frankly, we don’t even care what it’s about so long as it includes the sort of ridiculous hijinks that made the original a comedy classic.

Hefferman also revealed that distributor Fox Searchlight is currently reviewing the movie and a release date should be announced soon, signing off in classic Farva fashion with:

All the best, Chickenf*&kers!

Hope this has some good laughs and doesn’t fall victim to the sequel problem zoolander 2 and dumb and dumber had.

  • They better hope so! Broken Lizard hasn’t done jack squat in ages and this is their best. They better not let us down.
