Marvel Movie Nooz: Hailee Steinfeld Suits Up, Chris Hemsworth Gets a Goat & More
AndAfter 2020 devastated the television and motion picture industries, the launch of WandaVision on Disney+ and its incredible worldwide success promises there’s a lot to look forward to from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021.
Next month, the fallout of Captain America’s (Chris Evans) decision at the end of Avengers: Endgame to pass the mantle — and his shield — to Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) will be explored in the Disney+ streaming series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Also expected sometime this year is the Disney+ streaming series Hawkeye, which is expected to explore Clint Barton’s (Jeremy Renner) time as the criminal-killing Ronin and his training of his young apprentice Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). We got a brief glimpse of Steinfeld in civilian clothing in leaked set photos, but a new set photo shows her suited up in what appears to be her version of the Hawkeye costume.
Longtime comic book fans were thrilled when a photo leaked from the set of Thor: Love and Thunder showed Chris Hemsworth sporting long hair and wearing what appeared to be Jack Kirby-era Thor pants and boots. The primary-colored costume even overshadowed the fact that Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord not only appears in the film, but that he also seems to be wearing a new costume in Thor 4. A new photo leaked from the set shows a large white animatronic prop that many think shows one of Thor’s mystical goats Toothgnasher or Toothgrinder. Thor flying through space on a goat would perfectly fit director Taika Waititi‘s sense of humor, but the mechanical beast could also be Valkyrie’s (Tessa Thompson) Pegasus.

With the Guardians of the Galaxy appearing in Thor 4 before their next solo adventure, many have wondered if James Gunn had any influence over Waititi’s use of the characters. In a tweet, Gunn revealed that he had conferred with Waititi and they had read each others’ scripts, but had little input over the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok:
Not much, & @TaikaWaititi is doing a great job – the script is amazing. We talked before he started writing it about where the characters are & where they're going & he read the script for Vol 3 & then I read his script & shared my thoughts.
