We’re getting close to the premiere of the ninth and final movie in The Skywalker Saga and, while Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is apparently still being edited together after major changes to the plot forced co-writer and director J.J. Abrams to bring back creator George Lucas to tweak — some say completely rewrite — large potions the script and the production to call back much of the cast for eleventh-hour reshoots, Disney and Lucasfilm are finally putting out some new promotional material and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
Earlier this week, EW gave us some stunning new still images of our rag-tag heroes and the dastardly Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), the Knights of Ren and his First Order — Snowtroopers! — and now we have been gifted with some epic character posters featuring Star Warriors past and present, including newcomers Jannah (Naomi Ackie), the enigmatic and super cool-looking Zorii Bliss (Keri Russell) and stripped down droid D-O.
The saga will end, the story lives forever… The surviving Resistance faces the First Order once more as Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron’s (Oscar Isaac) journey continues. With the power and knowledge of generations behind them, the final battle commences.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was written (with Chris Terrio) and directed by J.J. Abrams. Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Billie Lourd and Joonas Suotamo reprise their roles from The Last Jedi, joining series veterans Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels and Carrie Fisher. Joining the cast are Keri Russell, Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens on December 20th.
