Birds of Prey: First Footage Debuts in Brazil Plus Artsy Poster Art

“They say behind every successful man there’s a badass broad. I guess all good things come to an end. So we broke up. Mister Jay was super broke up about it.”

We were unable to make it down to Brazil for the CCXP 2019, where the first footage from Birds of Prey (And the Fabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinndebuted in front of an enthusiastic crowd, but fortunately Collider was on hand and they have all the dirt on the, “Bright. Vibrant. Colorful. And absolutely mad,” new Gotham City depicted in the Suicide Squad spin-off movie.

What we do have is an Easter egg-filled new teaser poster that is more influenced by Surrealism and Botticelli’s Venus than typical “jam piece” comic book movie art, and a batch of similarly-designed crazy cool character posters that give us our best look yet at the new heroes, anti-heroes and villains who will be populating Harley’s (Margot Robbie) post-Joker world, including Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina) and the big, bad Roman Sionis, aka Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).

Birds of Prey (And the Fabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn) was directed by Cathy Yan, from a script by Christina Hodson. It is slated to open in theaters on February 7, 2020.
