Aubrey Plaza Joins WandaVision Spin-Off Agatha: Coven of Chaos

Only days after revealing that Heartstopper star Joe Locke had joined Marvel’s new Disney+ series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Variety reports that Parks and Recreation breakout Aubrey Plaza has also signed on to the WandaVision spin-off. Plot details are limited for the series, which will focus on Kathryn Hahn‘s character from WandaVision, Agatha Harkness, but rumors abound that it involves Agatha’s efforts to create a new order of witches trained in chaos magic after the Darkhold was destroyed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Magic.

Emma Caulfield Ford will return as Dottie, with Elizabeth Olsen expected to cameo as Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch. Plaza’s role has not been revealed, but many speculate she will be portraying one of the famous witches of Marvel Comics lore, possibly Morgan le Fay. In the comics, le Fay was a virtually immortal sorceress who led a cult of “Darkholders” that actually conjured forth the elder demon Chthon. Elizabeth Hurley portrayed le Fay in the Marvel series Runaways.

Head writer and executive producer of WandaVision, Jac Schaefer, will perform the same duties on Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
