Behind the Stunning VFX of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Ever since George Lucas put together a team of scrappy, innovative artists to create never-before-seen visual effects on-the-fly for the original Star Wars, the team that would become Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) has been at the forefront of movie-making technology. In this pair of videos released by ILM, we get to see the digital magic that went into creating two incredible scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The Last Jedi was written and directed by Rian Johnson. The cast includes Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Joonas Suotamo, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Billie Lourd, Kelly Marie Tran, Gwendoline Christie and Laura Dern.
The movie will be released digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD on March 13th, on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and Blu-ray disc on March 27th.
