Neill Blomkamp Trades Sci-Fi for Horror in Trailer for Demonic

South African writer-director Neill Blomkamp is widely known as a science fiction director, having exclusively visited dystopian visions of the future in his three previous feature films: Chappie (2015), Elysium (2013) and District 9 (2009). With his latest film, Demonic, Blomkamp focuses his unique storytelling vision on the horror genre.

A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.

The movie was written and directed by Neill Blomkamp. Carly Pope, Nathalie Boltt and Chris William Martin star.

Demonic opens in theaters on August 20th, and debuts On Demand, and on August 27th.
