The newest teaser trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ streaming series Loki shows the God of Mischief in several compromising positions. Stripped of his powers, his weapons and even his clothing, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) finds himself a captive of the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic interdimensional agency designed to ensure that the “sacred timeline” is not disrupted.
After Loki picked up the Tesseract during the Avengers’ botched time heist back to New York City during the Chitauri invasion in Avengers: Endgame, he apparently used the Infinity Stone-powered cube to make a mess of things, time-wise. Now, Loki’s being tasked with helping Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) and the TVA set things right, with the fate of the entire universal timestream on the line.
Oh, sorry, you’re not familiar with Mobius M. Mobius? Well, he’s sort of the liaison between Loki and the TVA or, perhaps more accurately, Loki’s case worker and deadpan cheerleader. But, here, Marvel also released a video introducing the mysterious immortal man so give it a click.
Loki was created and written for Disney+ by Michael Waldron, with Kate Herron directing. Owen Wilson, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku also star.
The series will begin streaming on Disney+ on June 9th.
