Quentin Tarantino and J.J. Abrams Teaming on R-Rated Star Trek Movie

After news broke earlier this week that J.J. Abrams was in discussions with Quentin Tarantino to develop and direct a Star Trek movie, we’ve now learned that Tarantino has “required” that his movie be R-rated since all of his previous movies have carried that rating. According to Deadline, Tarantino has already met with writers, with Mark L. Smith (The¬†Revenant) the “frontrunner” to pen the script. Paramount is expected to make a decision about a writer soon.

Tarantino will next be filming a movie about the Charles Manson Family murders set in 1969 with Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) playing Sharon Tate, but Star Trek is expected to follow.
