Michael K. Williams Joins the Han Solo Prequel Movie
Principal photography on the Untitled Han Solo prequel movie has been underway for two weeks now, but the cast is still coming together. Joining Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo and Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissiann is riveting and versatile actor Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire, 12 Years a Slave) in an as-yet-undisclosed role, Variety reports.
Little is known about the plot of the movie at this point, except that it takes place between the events depicted in Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One and focuses on Han’s time spent as a smuggler, reportedly under the tutelage of Woody Harrelson‘s character. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Pheobe Waller-Bridge also star in unrevealed roles, with Joona Suotamo as Chewbacca.
The Untitled Han Solo movie is slated for release in 2018.
