First Trailer for Loki Season Two Breaks MCU & Disney Plus Records
There’s definitely a feeling of malaise or “fatigue” regarding superhero movies of late, but people are all too quick to decry the “death” of superhero movies whenever the newest movie fails to perform. Some news of note to the contrary can be found in the numbers for the debut of the Loki Season Two trailer, however. The trailer dropped July 31st and quickly broke milestones by becoming the most-viewed MCU series trailer and the most-viewed Disney+ trailer, garnering a staggering 80 million views! Additionally, fan opinions on Twitter/X were nearly 90% positive, with many hoping the series can get Marvel’s streaming content out of the slump it has been in since Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk.

Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
The second season was directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw, and Kasra Farahani, with head writer Eric Martin.The series stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Neil Ellice, Liz Carr, with Jonathan Majors as Kang, Ke Huy Quan, and Owen Wilson.
