First Trailer for Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote Starring Adam Driver

Eighteen years after Terry Gilliam‘s first attempt to make a movie based on Miguel de Cervantes‘ Don Quixote with Jean Rochefort as Don Quixote and Johnny Depp as Sancho Panza ended in disaster, we finally have an official trailer for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The trailer is a testament to the eccentric auteur’s determination, as evidenced by the many, many, many obstacles that barred his path to completing the film.

An advertising executive (Adam Driver) jumps back and forth in time between 21st century London and 17th century La Mancha, where Don Quixote (Jonathan Pryce) mistakes him for Sancho Panza.

Gilliam wrote the script with Tony GrisoniOlga KurylenkoStellan Skarsgård and Jordi Mollà also star.

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote does not have a release date yet, but it will be distributed by Amazon Studios.
