DC FanDome: Kristen Wiig Unleashed as The Cheetah in Trailer for Wonder Woman 1984

The first Wonder Woman was a solid movie and a much-needed palette cleanser after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League left a bitter taste in the mouths of most DC fans, but we’ve seen little about Patty Jenkins‘ sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, that inspired confidence… until now. Released during the DC FanDome event, the official trailer for the movie takes us back to Themyscira, to Diana’s formative years of training with the Amazons, and fast-forwards us to the 1980s to find Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) contending with a back-from-the-dead Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), evil politician Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) and a powerful, ferocious new adversary in The Cheetah (Kristen Wiig).

Patty Jenkins returns to direct the sequel from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham, from a story she wrote with Johns. Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor, with Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen also reprising their Wonder Woman roles as Antiope and Hippolyta, respectively.

Wonder Woman 1984 is slated to open in select 2D, 3D and IMAX theaters, but it does not yet have a release date.
