Warwick Davis Reprises His Phantom Menace Role in Solo: A Star Wars Story

While the plot of Rogue One was directly tied to the original Star Wars trilogy, it still managed to include several carryovers from the prequels, including the volcanic planet Mustafar and Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits), adoptive father of Leia (Carrie Fisher). Not counting Chewbacca (Joona Suotamo), who was seen battling the invading Separatists on Kashyyyk in Revenge of the Sith, the latest standalone film Solo: A Star Wars Story also includes a character from the prequels.

Warwick Davis, considered “a tradition and another master” by director Ron Howard, plays Weazel in Solo, a member of Enfys Nest’s gang who was last seen attending a Podrace on Tattooine in The Phantom Menace. Davis and his daughter also pitched in as (presumably) stand-ins for droids, according to co-writer Jon Kasdan: “In some of the droid fights, it’s the two of them against each other.”
