First Teaser Trailer for Marvel’s Helstrom Hulu Series

Many think of Disney+ as Disney’s new streaming service and the home of Marvel content, but the House of Mouse also owns Hulu now and they are using it for content that doesn’t quite fit the family-friendly brand. Helstrom, the last Marvel property produced before Jeph Loeb‘s control of television programming was turned over to Kevin Feige, will debut this fall on Hulu as a limited series.

The series was originally going to exist in the official MCU, with crossovers involving Gabriel Luna‘s Ghost Rider from Agents of SHIELD, but with the planned Ghost Rider spin-off cancelled — along with Runaways — and Disney+ the new home of all Marvel series content, it’s unlikely that we will see references to the greater MCU. Disney is rather squeamish about horror, in general, and religious-based horror, in particular, so this series about a pair of Anti-Christ sibling “heroes” doesn’t fit on Disney+ with the rest of its Marvel fare, hence its release on Hulu.

As the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer, Helstrom follows Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), and their complicated dynamic, as they track down the worst of humanity — each with their own attitude and skills.

The entire Helstrom series premiere October 16, 2020, on Hulu.
