Andrew Koki to Play Storm Shadow in Snake Eyes Movie and Another G.I. Joe Spin-Off is in the Works

The Real American Heroes will soon be working double-time at the box office. The long-gestating Snake Eyes solo spin-off movie is finally moving forward with the hiring of Robert Schwentke (Divergent series) and the recent casting of Andrew Koji (Warrior) as Storm Shadow opposite title star Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians). The script was written by Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty and the Beast) and tells the origin of Snake Eyes and his efforts to join the Arashikage Clan of ninjas in Japan.

Paramount is also moving forward with another G.I. Joe movie, that has been described as another spin-off of the franchise, but one with an ensemble cast. The only character currently known to appear in the movie is Chuckles, a infiltration specialist first appearing in the 1987 toy line and in G.I. Joe #60 (Marvel Comics) of that same year. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, the writing duo behind Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol, have been hired to pen the script.

Paramount originally slated Snake Eyes for March 2020, but its likely release date will be October 16, 2020. The other as-yet-untitled Joe spin-off does not have a release date.
