The Mandalorian: Extended Clip from the First Episode of Season 3 Poses Questions

Lucasfilm has released a 45-second extended clip from the long-awaited first episode of Season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+ that helps set the stage for the season to come. In it, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) poses a question to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) that many fans of the series have also been pondering: Why is Mando still bumming around with Grogu after having “completed” his “quest” to reunite the Force-adept “little critter” with another Jedi?

The same question has been bouncing around in fan forums and on social media since Grogu chose to abandon his training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) at the end of The Book of Boba Fett to help Mando on Tattooine. Whatever the answer turns out to be, die-hard fans of the series are hoping Grogu’s presence in Season 3 is vital to the story and not simply an edict by Lucasfilm parent Disney to capitalize on the character’s popularity and sell more toys.

Hopefully, we’ll receive some satisfying answers when the new season kicks off next month. In the meantime, we’re left chuckling over Grogu’s new control of the Force and Mando’s understated explanation of his new quest to redeem himself and possibly unite the Mandalorian people under his leadership as merely “some matters to look after.”

The series also stars Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing and Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto.

The Mandalorian makes his triumphant return to the small screen via Disney+ on March 1st!
