Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly Get Small in New Still Images from Ant-Man and the Wasp
While Avengers: Infinity War is pretty much a roller-coaster thrill ride punctuated by jokes that will make even casual fans grin from ear to ear, it had some pretty heavy scenes in it — it does have the word “war” in the title, after all — so you would be forgiven if you walked out feeling a little down. Marvel Studios is likely aware of that, which is why they’re following that epic slugfest with the more lighthearted Ant-Man and the Wasp, a romantic comedy adventure movie disguised as a superhero movie.
The movie finds Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and their quest to rescue original Wasp Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the Quantum Realm, the microscopic alternate dimension that she disappeared into decades before Scott ever pilfered Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) size-changing technology.
The new still images, courtesy of EW, give us another look at Scott and Hope in their gear, as well as an awesome shot of the two in all of their miniature glory.
Ant-Man & the Wasp was directed by Peyton Reed from a script by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Paul Rudd. Laurence Fishburne also stars as the size-changing hero Bill Foster, aka Goliath, with Walton Goggins and Hannah John-Kamen as the villains.
Ant-Man & the Wasp opens in theaters on July 6th.
This looks light and fun. I felt drained walking out of Infinity War. (Loved it, just saying.)
