Laura Dern Shows Off Her Purple ‘do From Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Powerful women with interesting hairdos are a staple of Star Wars — Queen Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Mon Mothma (Caroline Blakiston, Genevieve O’Reilly) — but Laura Dern‘s Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo appears to be the first one inspired by the rainbow hues of anime characters. We still don’t know what role the Resistance leader will play in The Last Jedi, beyond the rumors that she might not agree with General Leia overly much, but thanks to a recent appearance on Ellen we got another look at her purple ‘do and learned that she will at least see some action in the movie. Pew, pew-pew!
The Last Jedi stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Joonas Suotamo, Adam Driver, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Billie Lourd, Kelly Marie Tran, Gwendoline Christie and Laura Dern.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens December 15th.
Doesn’t quite look like a SW character, but at least Dern can act, unlike Portman’s piss-poor performance in the prequels.
