Jaw-Dropping Teaser Trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home Breaks Views Record Held by Avengers: Endgame
Marvel fans were finally rewarded for their patience with an absolutely mind-blowing teaser trailer for Tom Holland‘s third, and potentially final, Spider-Man solo movie that is so chock-full of WTF‘s that it broke the record for most views in 24 hours held by Avengers: Endgame and has already been viewed more than 56 million times since its release, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The trailer takes the concept of the “Multiverse” first mentioned in the MCU in Spider-Man: Far from Home and explored at length in Loki and blows it wide open, bringing into the MCU villains from other Sony movies — including Willem Dafoe‘s Green Goblin from Spider-Man (2002), Alfred Molina‘s Doctor Octopus and what appears to be Thomas Haden Church‘s Sandman from Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Jamie Foxx‘s Electro (with color-corrected lightning) from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) — and possibly even other Peter Parkers, as well as MCU mainstays like Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wong (Benedict Wong) and the newly crowned Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.
Spider-Man: No Way Home was directed by Jon Watts from a script by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon and Marisa Tomei star.
The movie opens in theaters on December 17, 2021.
