Tyrese Gibson Blasts Dwayne Johnson for Delaying Next Fast & Furious Movie
There’s no arguing that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson improves just about everything he appears in. He’s been called “Franchise Viagra” and credited with resuscitating the Mummy, G.I. Joe, and Fast & Furious franchises, and will likely do the same for Jumanji come December. His infusion of charm and testosterone into Fast & Furious caused its decent box office numbers to explode — Furious 7 brought in $1.5 billion worldwide — but The Rock has been a source of friction to some of the cast.
Johnson thrashed co-star Vin Diesel several times on Instagram during and immediately after the filming of The Fate of the Furious, calling him a “chicken shit” and “candy ass” without specifically mentioning his name and then thanking everyone but Diesel when he wrapped. Diesel was pretty peeved by the comments and there was supposedly a “secret sitdown” between the two to smooth things over, but now Tyrese Gibson is blasting The Rock for causing the delay of Fast 9. In a pointed Instragram post, Gibson jokingly congratulates Johnson for making the franchise all about himself and then takes a cheap shot at Johnson’s dismal Baywatch movie.
The Rock might be getting a little too big for his britches, but Vin Diesel always seemed like a d-bag to me.
