One Avengers: Infinity War Character is Only Mostly Dead
So many of our beloved heroes and even some of our favorite villains bit the dust in Avengers: Infinity War that it’s refreshing to hear that at least one of the characters we thought was dead is actually alive and well. That is, according to the actor who played him. In a recent interview to promote his new movie, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Benicio del Toro revealed that the Collector is still kicking it somewhere out there in the cosmos.
I think he’s alive. Yeah… I think that, you know, I think he’s alive. You’re talking to him!
The Collector certainly seemed dead in the movie, but perhaps he was only, to quote Miracle Max (Billy Crystal), “mostly dead.” We see his still body, but his actual death at the hands of Thanos (Josh Brolin) was supposedly cut from the theatrical release so he might just be alive after all. That, and the fact that he is an “Elder of the Universe” and nearly immortal, or “deathless” as Jeff Goldblum put it regarding his owner character, the Collector’s brother, the Grandmaster, make it seem highly plausible that we might seem him again in Avengers 4 or Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3.

I have to see that movie… XD
So, so good! I actually watched it again last night with my daughters. They couldn’t appreciate a lot of the nuances of the humor but they loved it!
