No More Fun and Games for Zachary Levi in Shazam! Fury of the Gods Trailer
A new trailer for the Warner Bros. Pictures’ latest DC Comics adaptation, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, has been released via Twitter and it’s a completely different tone than we’re used to seeing for the DCU’s youngest (at heart) headlining superhero. Much like the first Shazam!, the first trailer for Fury of the Gods was more lighthearted and focused on family. This new trailer shows (perhaps too much) that Billy Batson (Zachary Levi) is going to have to “grow up” to become the hero the world needs, and that he might just have to go it alone.
Billy Batson (Asher Angel), the champion of the wizard Shazam with “the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury,” must pit his alter-ego (Zachary Levi) and his magic-imbued foster family against the evil daughters of Atlas.

The movie was directed by David F. Sandberg (Shazam!, Annabelle: Creation). It was written by Henry Gayden (Shazam!) and Chris Morgan (The Fate of the Furious). The cast includes Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as Super Hero Freddy, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield / Super Hero Mary, Ross Butler as Super Hero Eugene, Meagan Good as Super Hero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as Super Hero Pedro, Djimon Hounsou as Wizard, with Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren.
