Josh Brolin Says to Expect a Lot More Cable After Deadpool 2
While he claims he doesn’t “like the idea of a franchise,” Josh Brolin has managed to find himself playing a big part in two huge comic book movie franchises. In fact, he will be appearing as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Cable in Deadpool 2 while both movies are in theaters at the same time. Brolin recently told The Playlist that his Infinity role is anything but — “It’s a finite thing, and I like that.” — and then revealed that we will be seeing a lot more of his other comic book character in future Fox movies.
We think about it in four movie terms. We tried to think of Cable as a full arc, not just in this movie, but in the trajectory of four films. That made it a lot more fun for me.
With X-Force debuting in Deadpool 2, we have to wonder if Cable’s “full arc” will play out in a spin-off trilogy of films revolving around the covert X-Men team or whether he will simply become Deadpool’s (Ryan Reynolds) sidekick (or vice versa) in future movies about the Merc with a Mouth.
Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on May 18th, but tickets go on sale tomorrow!
