In Vanity Fair’s latest “Notes on a Scene” video, Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo offer a break down of the hilarious first meeting between the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The directors discuss adjusting their shooting style to “accomodate all of the different tones” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, giving specific examples of color, lighting and framing choices that they made to convey information in each scene and how “emotional realism” is the one “constant” in their Marvel movies.
