Wonder Woman Makes Box Office History (Again)

After debuting with the largest box office opening weekend for a female director, Patty Jenkins‘ Wonder Woman has made history yet again after its second weekend in cinemas. Wonder Woman scored the top spot in week #2 with an estimated $57 million take to handily beat out Tom Cruise in The Mummy. This 45% drop from week one to week two might seem drastic, but it’s the smallest second weekend drop of any other superhero movie, making Wonder Woman the movie to emulate for future success in this genre.

Patty Jenkins directed the movie from a script by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns. Gal GadotChris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie NielsenDanny Huston, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Lucy Davis star.

Wonder Woman is in theaters now.
