That’s a Wrap! Brie Larson Completes Shooting for Captain Marvel Movie

With that mysterious tag at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, casual fans who stuck around to the bitter end were left wondering what the significance was of the star emblem on the pager dropped by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) while Marvel fans immediately recognized that the symbol heralds the arrival of one of the Marvel Universe’s most powerful characters, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). The first female superhero to get her own movie, Captain Marvel promises to be the Wonder Woman of the Marvel Universe, even borrowing a page from the Distinguished Competition’s narrative by basing the film at least partially in the past. In this case, it’s the 1990’s and not the 1900’s, but there’s bound to be plenty of fish-out-of-water moments when Carol returns to Earth after, presumably, decades in space.
Larson used twitter to announce that she has completed her filming for the movie and is looking forward to heading home and getting some rest. Now, post-production can get busy making Jackson and Clark Gregg look the way he did 30 years ago.

Captain Marvel was directed by the team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississipi Grind), from a script they wrote with Meg LeFauve,Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch. Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou repise their Guardians of the Galaxy roles as Ronan the Accuser and Korath. Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, and Jude Law also star.
Captain Marvel opens in theaters on March 8, 2019.
