Obi-Wan Kenobi Solo Movie in the Works
The Force is with us! When it was first announced shortly after the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney that there were three planned solo spin-off films in addition to Episodes VII, VII & IX, most people clamored for a Boba Fett movie, but we wanted more of Ewan McGregor‘s Obi-Wan Kenobi and it appears we are going to get just that.
According to THR, Billy Elliot and The Hours director Stephen Daldry is in the “earliest of stages” of talks with Lucasfilm to bring Luke Skywalker’s mentor back to the big screen, with the aim of having Daldry oversee development of the project and assist in writing the script. The article notes that McGregor is not a lock for the role as there is no script, but we can’t imagine anyone else playing Obi-Wan and I’m sure Lucasfilm has the same view.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!! I always thought Mcgregor was the best part of the prequel trilogy. Of all the spinoff movies this is the one I’ve wanted the most! So cool!!
