Get a Crash Course in Some of the New Heroes in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

With one review calling it a “game-changing” superhero movie and another predicting it will be “the year’s best animated movie,” it’s time you accept the fact that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a movie you simply can’t blow off and wait to watch on home video if you are a Marvel fan, superhero fan or animated movie fan. You just can’t.

So, you might as well get as up to speed as you can on some of the new Spider-people you will be meeting in this dimension-hopping experience that finds a young new Spider-Man named Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) on an adventure that brings him into contact with Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), the anthropomorphic Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) and the one-and-only original Spider-Man, Peter Parker (Jake Johnson).

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman from a screenplay by Phil Lord and Rothman. The movie includes the voice talents of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree, Henry Luna, Lauren Velez and Lily Tomlin.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse opens in theaters on December 14th.
