Logan “Found Footage” Clip Shows X-23’s Origin [NSFW]

Even after seeing Laura (Dafne Keen), aka X-23, leap around and act a whole lot like Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) in the Logan  TV spot that aired during the Super Bowl, we still weren’t sure how closely the origin of the character would match up with that of her comic book namesake. After watching this found footage-style clip released by Fox, that question has been answered: pretty damn closely! Forced experimentation? Check. Metal claws? Check. Self mutilation? Check.

In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart) in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant (Dafne Keen) arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Logan was directed by James Mangold, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Green and Scott Frank. The movie was inspired by the now-classic “Old Man Logan” comic mini-series by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

The movie is slated for release on March 3, 2017.
