First Footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story Revealed in Super Bowl Spot

In advance of the debut of the first trailer tomorrow morning, Lucasfilm gave us our first look at footage from Solo: A Star Wars Story in an intriguing 45-second spot during the Super Bowl. The spot shows us that young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) learned how to be a pilot by joining the Empire, an affirmation of the Star Wars Legends (non-canon) history of the character. It also gave us our first looks at Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, as well as Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson.

Ron Howard directed the movie from a script by Lawrence and Jon KasdanThandie Newton, Paul Bettany and Pheobe Waller-Bridge also star, with Joona Suotamo as Chewbacca.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters on May 25th.
