Teaser Trailer and Synopsis for Duncan Jones’ New Sci-Fi Noir Thriller Mute

Hopes were high for Warhammer after Duncan Jones blew our minds with Moon and gave us a satisfying thrill ride in Source Code, but that big-budget disaster may have been fortuitous after all because Jones is back, at Netflix this time, with Mute, a sci-fi noir thriller that he wrote and directed that looks like it could exist within Ridley Scott‘s original Blade Runner. The full trailer will drop on Tuesday, but here’s the synopsis and teaser:

Berlin. Forty years from today. A roiling city of immigrants, where East crashes against West in a science-fiction Casablanca. Leo Beiler (Alexander Skarsgard), a mute bartender has one reason and one reason only for living here, and she’s disappeared. But when Leo’s search takes him deeper into the city’s underbelly, an odd pair of American surgeons (led by Paul Rudd) seem to be the only recurring clue, and Leo can’t tell if they can help, or who he should fear most.
