Quentin Tarantino and J.J. Abrams Teaming on R-Rated Star Trek Movie

After news broke earlier this week that J.J. Abrams was in discussions with Quentin Tarantino to develop and direct a Star Trek movie, we’ve now learned that Tarantino has “required” that his movie be R-rated since all of his previous movies have carried that rating. According to Deadline, Tarantino has already met with writers, with Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) the “frontrunner” to pen the script. Paramount is expected to make a decision about a writer soon.

Tarantino will next be filming a movie about the Charles Manson Family murders set in 1969 with Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) playing Sharon Tate, but Star Trek is expected to follow.

Is it April Fool’s Day? I seriously had to look at the camera.
