Hugh Jackman Would Play Wolverine Again If He Joined The Avengers

Hugh Jackman has been saying for more than a year now that Logan will mark his last time playing everyone’s favorite mutton-chopped berserker and even an early teaser poster for the movie used that knowledge as a promotional slogan: “One Last Time.” But, even though his mutant-in-arms Patrick Stewart said that he is “done” with the franchise in solidarity with Jackman, there is one possible way we might get to see the first and original Wolverine back on the big screen and that’s if he could somehow join The Avengers.

It’s a longshot that seems like an impossibility, but the same thing was said of Spider-Man joining The Avengers before a deal was brokered between Sony and Marvel for joint custody of the character. In a recent interview with Screenrant, Jackman said that he might reconsider retiring from the character if such a deal could be made.

If that was on the table when I made my decision, it certainly would have made me pause. That’s for sure. Because I always love the idea of him within that dynamic, with the Hulk obviously, with Iron Man but there’s a lot of smarter people with MBAs who can’t figure that out [laughter]. You never know.

Logan was directed by James Mangold, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Green and Scott Frank. The movie was inspired by the now-classic “Old Man Logan” comic mini-series by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

The movie is slated for release on March 3, 2017.

I smell waffles, but hey, for the right price or awesome enough script an actor will act.

  • For sure, though! Jackman has already hinted he might be interested in a Deadpool team-up movie. By saying he’s retired, he just garnered himself a great bargaining position with the studio.
