Hellish New Poster for Alien: Covenant

The first teaser posters for Alien: Covenant were callbacks to the 1979 original, with messages like “RUN” and “HIDE” in front of xenomorph eggs. The latest teaser poster takes us back a bit further, evoking a Renaissance-era depiction of the battle between heaven and hell that appears ripped out of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem Divine Comedy, but with Engineers and aliens playing the parts of angels and demons. The poster was even distributed with the chilling tagline: “The path to paradise begins in hell.”

The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the world that he created in this sequel to Prometheus written by John Logan (Spectre).

Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir and Carmen Ejogo.

The movie is slated for release on May 19, 2017.
