Get a Closer Look at the VFX Behind Two Big Reveals from Avengers: Infinity War

If you stayed to watch the end-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, then you likely were amazed at just how many names the slowly scrolling list contained. We all went to see the movie because of its massive cast of movie stars playing our favorite superheroes battling impossible odds, but they wouldn’t look half as good, half as believable, or their threats half as deadly, if it wasn’t for the enormous pantheon of talented artists, technicians, programmers and mechanics working in obscurity behind the scenes.

Oliver Schulz is one of those unsung heroes whose contributions to the movie are so important largely because of the fact that they are barely noticed. As the VFX Supervisor at RISE, Schulz worked on Doctor Strange and Black Panther before creating several sequences for Infinity War, including the opening in Central Park, interior shots of the Quinjet, and two big reveals: the Wakandan scene where Bucky (Sebastian Stan) gets his new arm and the end-credits scene that gives us a little hope going into Avengers 4 while also teasing Marvel’s newest franchise, Captain Marvel, the first for the studio with a female lead.
